The ADDIE model

The project is based on the ADDIE model of learning development which is used by course developers and training designers. We believe it is a model that is most suitable for complex course or programmes and it can certainly assist towards the creation of a curriculum, materials and tools in synchronous electronic learning of the upmost quality.

ADDIE is an acronym for Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation. According to the ADDIE process, these five stages are phases which help create a full training programme. Initial development of the ADDIE model created an iterative linear process which allowed trainers and educators to create state-of-the-art courses in different fields. More contemporary versions of the model have turned it into a more interactive and dynamic model which assists towards better understanding the continuous engagement with all the phases throughout the whole procedure.

For the purposes of this project the ADDIE model of synchronous electronic learning is used. This model focuses on the Analysis of training needs, Design and Development of materials being provided electronically and Implemented through a platform which is the Evaluated electronically.
